Purple Pick-Me Up

Bourjois Khol & Contour  - 86 Violet Malicieux

I was a big fan of Khol & Contour a few years ago, before I had really played around with gel and liquid liners, and this specific brand in black, was my absolute go to, for a smoky eye or a cat flick.

When I saw it in this gorgeous purple hue, I couldn't resist picking it up as I was a fan of the quality of this brand for years. It is lovely. With green eyes, purple really compliments me, and I love to play around with different shadows, but this is beautiful for a really bold touch.

It is smooth to apply and longevity wise, you obviously wont get the same results as any liquid or gel liner, but it definitely is far superior in terms of pigmentation and lasts a decent few hours before starting to fade, then many pencil liners on the market.

On the Skin

As you can see, it's a gorgeous vivid violet, which is so easy to apply. It's not scratchy like some pencils, but not too soft that you lose control. It is perfectly beautiful to use and the result is fantastic.

You can pick one up yourself for  £4.99 from most good Boots.

Real Techniques Duo Fiber Collection

Real Techniques Ltd. Edition Duo Fiber Brush Set

Duo Fiber Face, Contour and Eye Brushes

These limited edition duo fiber brushes by Real Techniques, (the brainchild of Samantha Chapman), are designed to perfectly apply powder based products. I had read mixed reviews about these brushes; some people were praising their ability to apply the perfect amount of product flawlessly, whilst others were calling them scratchy and of a lesser quality to their original siblings.

My verdict?...

... I like them. They are lightweight, and easy to use. They pick up the right amount of product, (for example Bare Minerals loose powder foundation), and apply it evenly over the face with no build-up or uneven patches. As for them being scratchy and cheap... I just don't get it. They are just as good quality as all Real Techniques products, (which is really good), and I haven't felt a scratch once!

I would definitely recommend these, especially if you are a fan of powder-based products. They work brilliantly, and are limited edition... so what are you waiting for!?

No7 CC Cream

No7 'Youthful' CC Cream

CC creams; the slightly more advanced sister of last years huge craze - BB creams, claim to pretty much do everything under the sun (as well as protecting you from it...).

This specific tube of Mary Poppins-esque wonder, is jam packed with moisturisers, UVA protection, SPF 15, a tint and a light to medium coverage. Wow. But what is it like?..

I LOVE this product. And I do mean love. It has all the charm of a fantastic tinted moisturiser, giving you that uber desirable naked-skin glow, whilst being subtle and sheer. It moisturises, without leaving skin sticky or greasy, and stays put all day without drying or 'caking' on the face. Literally perfect for those mornings when you want to wear no make-up (...but obviously you need to wear something).

On the Skin

Blended

In terms of variety, I couldn't see much, and obviously skin is one of the most personal and versatile things about each of us. The Boots I was in may have just had a limited display, but it is definitely worth looking around or online to find your best fit.

I highly recommend this product, for its wearability and longevity, in a fresh, subtle way. I adore the fact it has 5 stars for UVA and SPF if very important to me too. I like to think that even if I can't see the Sun, it doesn't mean it can't damage my skin. And you do generally only get one face..

Look out for £5 off No7 offers in store at Boots too, this is only around £12... but why not get it for less?!

Lots of Love,
